Pumpkin-picking in Mauricie
Don’t go thinking that summer coming to an end means having to confine yourself to the indoors! This is a foodie’s dream season because it’s all about the harvest. Change things up in the Mauricie region and go beyond apple-picking with a try at harvesting pumpkins and various kinds of squashes. It’s easy to make it a fantastic family fun day thanks to the activities offered at Ferme Éthier, Les Fruits Soleil located in Saint-Étienne-des-Grès.

The choice is yours! The public market in Shawinigan was recently made over and farmers’ kiosks, which include Jardins Dugré and Jardins Bio Campanipol, are bursting with fresh products just waiting to find their way into your kitchen!

Go on: go out!

There’s no need to get upset about having to take out your coats. And isn’t it rather comforting to slip on a soft woolly or fleecy sweater and lounge out on the patios before they all disappear under the snowflakes? How about enjoying the colourful scenery around Auberge Le Baluchon, Sacacomie Hotel or the Poivre Noir restaurant! In addition to offering a fabulous setting, these establishments set the table with delicious seasonal cooking.
