Festival du cinéma international en Abitibi-Témiscamingue

Serge Gainsbourg declared in 1990 that the ultimate in snobbery was not to be at Cannes or Venise but to come to Rouyn-Noranda. The Festival du cinéma international en Abitibi-Témiscamingue (Abitibi-Témiscamingue International Film Festival) takes place annually in Rouyn-Noranda, Québec, Canada, 600 km (370 mi) to the north of Montréal and 3 hours by plane from New York. The most recognized Canadian film festival in its category, the Festival presents a complete program with close to 150 short, medium and long features from approximately 30 different countries with several world and North American premieres. The quality of its programming, the warmth of its welcome, the devotion of its public and the professionalism of its organization have come together to make this a popular event with the press and film-makers alike. The 30th edition will take place from October 29 to November 3, 2011.
