A family ice fishing at Glaces du Fjord
Experience ice fishing on the Saguenay Fjord!

Ephemeral villages of 900 colourful cabins can be found on the Saguenay Fjord in winter, making it among the most important ice fishing sites in the world. The Glaces du Fjord, a completely unique place, is also the only spot in eastern Canada where you can fish recreationally for groundfish in winter. This northern wilderness is located two and a half hours from Québec City and five hours from Montreal.

Are you a first-time ice fisher? No problem!

If you're not sure what kind of equipment you need for your fishing trip, don't worry! There are several types of packages available that promise you a simple, hassle-free and incredible experience. At the Glaces du Fjord site, they will equip you with bait, fishing poles and lines and you can even opt for an adventure in the company of a guide, who will help you discover the species swimming just under your feet. No matter what level you are, there is a package that will meet your expectations.

Take part in activities for the whole family!

In addition to ice fishing, there are many other activities to do on site: dogsledding, fatbiking, a visit to the museum, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and even downhill skiing at nearby Mont-Édouard and Mont Valinouët. In short, there's plenty to do this winter on the Saguenay Fjord to entertain outdoor enthusiasts of all ages!
