Hear ye, hear ye! You are hereby invited on a trip back to the 17th and 18th centuries as part of the TD New France Festival, from August 3 to 6, 2023. Boasting a one-of-a-kind ambience and festive feel, not to mention entertainment and activities for the whole family, this event is a fun way to highlight a historic period during which Québec City played a pivotal role. A festive, gourmet event not to be missed, right in the heart of Old Québec!

Entertainment for festival-goers of all ages

For its 26th edition, the TD New France Festival offers a great program of activities featuring more guests and more sites! Explore the various zones where you’ll find tastings and various entertainers. Stroll around the Place publique, for historical and educational discoveries, as well as demonstrations of period crafts and trades, and games from yesteryear. Fill up on flavours at the King’s Table or at the First Nations discovery dinner, and listen to enchanting stories told in a lantern-lit setting.

Passionate about history? Then you won’t want to miss the historical quiz nights, podcasts and improv evenings. And be sure to check out the conferences, panel discussions and educational events. To cap things off, see the gathering of “giants” at Parc de l’Esplanade: huge structures depicting the founding figures of New France. All free of charge!

The TD Treasure Hunt is back

Taking place from July 3 to August 6, the TD Treasure Hunt involves three historical quests. Your task is to help three important personalities of the New France era achieve their respective goals. Find clues around Quartier Petit-Champlain, Old Québec City and the Old Port to solve each quest. And what’s more: each one gives you the chance to win a grand prize valued at $1,500!

The Decoder-Medallion: your pass for the festivities

Purchase the Decoder-Medallion to get access to the festival and take part in the Treasure Hunt. And this year for the first time, the medallion also comes with a host of discounts and free perks on admission to various historic and heritage sites and attractions in Québec City, including the Musée Huron-Wendat, Onhwa’ Lumina and the Augustine Monastery.
