From August 4 to 20, the 30th edition of ItalfestMTL will take place in Montreal! During this great celebration that combines the cultures of Italy and the metropolis, you'll be able to enjoy a wide range of free activities for the whole family. Don't miss it!

Don Pasquale: an opera to be enjoyed by all!

A miserly old man named Don Pasquale gets beat at his own game. He refuses to marry off his nephew to an interesting but poor young woman. Instead, he decides to marry himself, and then have a child of his own, in order to disinherit his nephew Ernesto. This emotionally charged opera by composer Gaetano Donizetti will be presented outdoors in Little Italy on Sunday, August 6 at 9 p.m., at the corner of Saint-Zotique and Saint-Laurent. Visit the events page for more details.

See Michel Pagliaro perform live!

Legendary Montreal rocker Michel Pagliaro (aka Pag) will be performing at the Esplanade Tranquille in the Quartier des spectacles on Friday, August 11 at 9 p.m. Just like the outdoor opera, this performance is totally free! This singer known for his many hits and the numerous awards he has won throughout his career still lights up the stage – and this 70-year-old shows no signs of slowing down! Don't miss this chance to tap your feet to the beat of his songs, which have marked several generations!

A beautiful exhibit!

ItalfestMTL joins forces with Fierté Montréal and Violet Hour to present the Unveiling the Queer Italian-Canadian Experience every day from August 4 to 20 at Casa d'Italia on Jean-Talon Street. With photographs, live music and a few passages of poetic prose, this exhibition documents queer Italian-Canadian life in Montreal. These magnificent works are created by Toronto photographer Vincenzo Pietropaolo and Montreal author and poet Liana Cusmano. The musical ambience is provided by pianist Mike Melino. The exhibition is also free of charge.

ItalfestMTL is an opportunity to discover new, more contemporary aspects of Italian culture in Quebec, all in the charming district of Little Italy, where opportunities to feast on typical and traditional dishes abound. To discover other activities presented as part of the festival, check out the ItalfestMTL website.
