The MEM – Centre des mémoires montréalaises is a museum and citizen space that celebrates the city’s inhabitants, past and present. History is brought to life through the eyes, voices, and stories of Montrealers. The MEM provides spaces that foster encounters, and invites people to talk about their experiences of the city. These collected personal histories are at the heart of the MEM’s activities, including exhibitions, the Citizen bikes, the online encyclopaedia, and programs for schools. The MEM presents Montreal’s history by sharing citizens’ narratives, creating links between generations and between communities. The MEM welcomes you at the corner of Sainte-Catherine and Saint-Laurent, in the heart of the Quartier des spectacles.
