An official tourist route of Québec, the Route des Belles-Histoires lets you explore the Laurentians from a new vantage point. The route features more than 60 points of interest and runs through four regional county municipalities: Rivière-du-Nord, Pays-d’en-Haut, Laurentides and Antoine-Labelle. Under the theme of history, the region’s developments in forestry, agriculture, and tourism take centre stage. Part of the route travels alongside the P’tit Train du Nord bike trail. From Saint-Jérôme to Mont-Laurier, this trail follows the former path of the Canadian Pacific Railway, taking you for 284 km along a key route used by the region’s settlers. More historical attractions can be accessed via detours along the route. From the history of the train stations to the Site patrimonial du Calvaire d’Huberdeau with stopovers at the Espace Claude-Henri-Grignon exhibition space, the Musée du ski des Laurentides, and historic and heritage routes, everything is in place for some fun and adventure along the Route des Belles-Histoires. Go back in time with a BaladoDiscovery guided tour of the route, now available online or as a download for data-free access on your phone or tablet. One of your narrators will be legendary priest Antoine Labelle, known as the “King of the North”.
