Musée de la vieille fromagerie Perron, located in St-Prime in the Lac-St-Jean region! Live a unique experience in Canada: Visitors are invited to make their own cheese and discover the history of this famous worldwide ancient cheese factory. The old Perron cheese factory was built in 1895 by Adélard Perron and was designed according to the government standards of the time. In 1897, there were more than 1,266 artisanal cheese factories in Quebec. Today, it is the only onre representative of the old cheese factories that occupied the rural territory. Because of its unique character and historical values, it was classified as an exceptional historical monument in October 1989 by the Ministère de la Culture du Québec.
