Art and nature all around the island

Art trails abound on Île d'Orléans in the summer. The Espace Félix-Leclerc presents La forêt dans vos oreilles, composed of interactive installations combining nature, contemporary art and the poetry of Félix Leclerc. The Manoir Mauvide-Genest presents BLEU dévoile, an outdoor exhibition of works on canvases in the shape of boat sails. There’s also the Parc Maritime de Saint-Laurent presenting an exhibition of aerial photographs of the island through the years.

Enjoy a day out on the river during a guided zodiac tour with Croisières Orléans. You can also contemplate it from the patios of many restaurants and vineyards offering a breathtaking view to enhance your meal or wine tasting. The municipal docks are also great places to admire the river and have a picnic.

Delicious homegrown and homemade products

Already known for its wines, ciders, beers and other spirits, Île d'Orléans also offers spirits made from products of the land. Find a blackcurrant vodka at Cassis Monna & Filles, a blackcurrant Eau de vie at Ferme, Vinaigrerie, Distillerie et Boutique Du Capitaine and the already famous grape Eau de vie at Vignoble Ste-Pétronille.

Screaming for ice cream? Head to the Mlle Sundae creamery at the Confiserie de la Vieille École for an artisanal frozen treat. Get it dipped in homemade chocolate or go for a unique creation with local fruit and candies. And at the Ferme Audet, goat farm, you can try the exquisite and creamy goat’s milk ice cream.

U-pickers will be delighted to pick strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, haskap berries, blackcurrants, tomatoes, pears, apples, squash and pumpkins as the season moves forward. It's the perfect activity for families and friends!

Where to sleep on vacation on Île d’Orléans

If you want to stay longer on the island, several choices of accommodations are available to you. The apartment-condos at Au Pélican de l’île and Le 98 offer you comfort and proximity to the river. At La Maison de l’île, you will be welcomed by a friendly couple who travelled extensively before settling permanently on the island. Auberge Triangle d’été, is a tourist accommodation/yoga centre/artists' residence, and if you prefer to camp, you can choose from two campsites with private access to the river.
