The metropolis, which escaped prohibition, looks like Las Vegas. Gambling, women, alcohol; all desires are satisfied. It is the golden age of cabarets, a smoky and prolific nightlife with economy. Montreal is romantic, sensual and corrupt. It is on this stage that Lili St-Cyr (Marie-Pier Labrecque) makes her entrance. Mesmerizing. When she imposed herself on the Marquise of the Théâtre Gayety, she disrupted the life of Sophie (Lunou Zucchini) who hoped to make her place on the Montreal artistic scene as a singer. While her husband, Thomas (Maxime Denommée), the theater manager of the Gayety Theatre, wanted to give her a chance, Richard (Roger La Rue), owner of the famous cabaret, pledges a significant amount with the manager of the cabaret El Morocco, Jimmy Orlando (Stéphane Brulotte), that the Gayety Theatre would sign the American stripper before him. Jessie Fisher (Kathleen Fortin), the first woman elected to the City of Montreal, fights vice in exchange for votes: Lili St-Cyr will become the symbol of her campaign to clean up the Red Light of Montreal.
