The commercial hub of northern Lac-Saint-Jean and the central city of the Maria-Chapdelaine RCM, Dolbeau-Mistassini is also known as the Wild Blueberry Capital of the World. Renowned for its landscapes as well as for the warm welcome of its residents, it offers an enchanting setting on the shores of majestic Lac Saint-Jean. In August, Dolbeau-Mistassini celebrates the little blue fruit with its blueberry festival and the annual production of fresh blueberry chocolate by the Trappist Fathers. Kilometers of fine sandy beaches are within easy reach thanks to the Vauvert-sur-le-lac-Saint-Jean resort. In the heart of the city, rivers with magnificent waterfalls bear witness to the history of the founding of the city based on the arrival of the Trappist Fathers by water.
