Featuring a wide variety of local and international artists, this festival honours the beauty and diversity of Italy by sharing its music, arts and culture. This year, for the 29th edition, ItalfestMTL will be back with in-person performances and activities happening from August 5 to 20, 2022. Discover the famous Barber of Seville again or for the first time This year, on the Mastro & San Daniele Stage, ItalfestMTL celebrates the 230th birthday of Maestro Rossini. On Sunday, August 14, at 9:00 p.m., the festival will present The Barber of Seville, a melodramatic opera in four acts by Gioacchino Rossini, with a libretto by Cesare Sterbini. Spectators will be seduced by the story of Count Almaviva, who is in love with the beautiful Rosina and who, with the help of his famous valet Figaro, will do anything to win her over. Expect love, lust and deceit! A fabulous fashion show A staple feature of the festival and one of the most popular events of ItalfestMTL, the Moda Sotto le Stelle fashion show is back in person. Admire the know-how and talent of these Italian-Canadian designers on Saturday, August 13, at 8 p.m. This can’t-miss fashion show is happening on the Mastro & San Daniele Stage in Little Italy. Load up on Italian culture In addition to offering a wide variety of concerts, comedy evenings, and Italian storytelling for kids, ItalfestMTL invites you to explore all forms of Italian culture. Films, culinary demonstrations, exhibitions by local artists, and magic and circus shows are sure to impress.
