Calling everyone who loves nature and spectacular northern vistas: Why not take the Route Billy-Diamond see where all that energy comes from? At the end of the road lies the Robert-Bourassa development. Climb aboard a bus to discover the sheer immensity of Hydro-Québec’s structures, look up at a towering dam as tall as a 53-storey building, and marvel at the “giant’s staircase.” While exploring the world's largest underground generating station, carved 137 metres deep into the bedrock, you might even get a chance to see the refurbishing of the generating unit number 9. It was the first to be comissioned on october 1979.
