Pointe-Noire Interpretation and Observation Centre (Parks Canada)

Mid-June to mid-October

Baie-Sainte-Catherine (Qc), Canada

Nestled in the cliffs a stone's throw from the ferry to Tadoussac, the Pointe-Noire Interpretation and Observation Centre is the ideal place to enjoy exceptional views of the Saguenay Fjord and observe beluga whales. Since 1875, this site has been guiding navigators with the help of lights posted on the point: they indicate the direction to follow to set course for the Saguenay. Talk to the interpreter-guides on the terrace and browse the exhibition to learn about the history of this site and discover the wildlife that lives in the Saguenay-St. Lawrence Marine Park, the first marine protected area in Quebec. If your journey continues on the North Shore, stop off at Parks Canada's two other observation sites.
